So Calla turned 3 months yesterday. Do I still look like I just walked out of the hospital after giving birth? You bet I do. Am i proud of it? Eh, I’m indifferent really. My body was far from perfect before I was pregnant and it definitely is far from perfect since Calla has graced our lives. I’m a little in love with the stretchmarks I rightly earned in the last week of my 1 day shy of 42 weeks pregnancy. Prideful about the extra hips and waist I wear around my middle. Adore the extra freckle that appeared at 4 months pregnant. I call it the Calla freckle, right on my belly. I am definitely not one of those moms that obsesses over their weight and body shape after giving birth. I just love to walk. And be outside, always outside.

Walking is about as far as I go these days in terms of exercise. Maybe the occasional biking or hiking. But you won’t find any crunches or yoga or triathlons going on here. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still a super mom. I take care of Calla full-time all while trying to finish up my Masters degree. It ain’t no easy feat for sure.

For the month of August so far I have logged 85 miles of exercise which includes walking, hiking, and biking. This morning Calla and I strolled around the neighborhood in my realtively new Infantino Sash Mei Tai. This is the first carrier that Calla hasn’t cried everytime I put her in to it at first. She adores it. I tried a back carry and she’s just still a little bit too small. All the more motivation for me to get going on making my first woven wrap. Then I will be able to do a really nice back carry.

My new goal for September
100 miles!
